Hallmarking Fees

List of Hallmarking Fees

 

§1. Whenever a new article of precious metal is notified for testing by the manufacturer, another entity or authorised entity wishing to place the product on the market, irrespective of the assay method, a fee shall be collected for each gram of product on which testing has been carried out:
1) platinum, palladium or gold PLN 1.27
2) silver PLN 0.12
§2. Whenever an approximate method is used for the testing of an article of precious metal containing the Polish hallmark and the hallmark is checked and approved, a fee shall be collected for each gram of product on which testing has been carried out:
1) platinum, palladium or gold PLN 0.80
2) silver PLN 0.10
§3. Whenever a precious metal product is tested other than the kind, referred to in § 1, and whenever a precious metal product is tested which has been removed from the market pursuant to Article 37(1)(1) of the Act, irrespective of the assay method, a fee shall be collected for each gram of product on which testing has been carried out:
1) platinum, palladium or gold PLN 3.63
2) silver PLN 0.61
§4. Whenever a product of silver is tested whose unit mass exceeds 50 g, for each gram of product on which testing has been carried, irrespective of the assay method, the following fee shall be collected: PLN 0.08
§5. Concerning the testing of articles made of materials which are not precious metals, which contain precious metals in the form of ornamental elements or parts serving technical purposes, the fee, referred to in §§ 1–4 respectively, shall be calculated for each gram of an element or precious metal part on which testing has been carried out.
§6. The following fees shall be collected for the placing of each “MET” mark:
1) when using the mechanical method PLN 0.70
2) when using the laser method PLN 1.20
§7. The following fee shall be collected for the hallmarking of each article with the use of a laser device: PLN 1.20
§8. The following fee shall be collected for the issuing, on application of the notifying entity, of a test certificate for each article which contains a hallmark: PLN 12.00
§9. The following fee shall be collected for entering the personal mark on the register of personal marks: PLN 180.00
§10. The following fee shall be collected for giving access to data from the register of personal marks: PLN 18.00
§11. For the placing on the article, on application of the notifying entity, of a personal mark and of a numeric mark informing about fineness, the following fees shall be collected for each personal mark or numeric mark that is placed:
1) when using the mechanical method PLN 0.70
2) when using the laser method PLN 1.20
§12. For the performance, on application of the notifying entity, of auxiliary activities, accompanying the testing and marking of articles, the following fee shall be collected for each activity performed on an article: PLN 0.60
§13.1. The following fee shall be collected for issuing, on application of the notifying entity, of a certificate of performed activities: PLN 12.00
2. The following fee shall be collected for issuing the certificate or declaration in the English language, referred to in 1: PLN 24.00
§14.1. The following fee shall be collected for issuing a decision on the setting up of an assay point: PLN 4000.00
2. The following fee shall be collected for issuing a decision rejecting the setting up of an assay point: PLN 2000.00
§15. Fees for activities connected with the assaying and marking of precious metal articles and articles containing precious metals, performed at assay points, shall be reduced by 20% in relation to the fees collected at the registered offices of the Assay administrative authorities.
Concerning the activities of assay authorities, defined under Article 36(1)(5) of the Act (e.g. chemical analysis, preparing an expert opinion) fees shall be collected according to the hourly rate of PLN 72 for each hour of work carried out by an assay office employee; a proportion of this fee shall be collected for each part of an hour of work.
